My app doesn't use the Azure environment. But I've got to add it in so I can move my configuration to the cscfg file instead of sticking it in the web.config. I started out with an MVC3 app and added the cloud project later. It works out of the box using the deployable assemblies trick.

However, you still need to "prepare" the ASP.NET MVC 3 project to a web role and map it to an appropriate Azure cloud project. (Would be nice if there was a NuGet package for the whole thing).

Scott Gu didn't mention this in the announcement, but the recent ASP.NET MVC3 tools update includes an option for including bin deployable assemblies (if you right click on the MVC3 project you'll see it) click it and voila, everything you need for MVC3 in azure will be there.

What about the fact that while Apple was desperately trying whatever it can to screw everyone (developers, businesses, publishers, advertisers and even its own customers) and destroy the web, Adobe has been laughing all the way to the bank by imposing its Flash Platform as the #1 application development platform that allows us, developers to build once and deploy everywhere? What about the fact that the mobile market is not driven by devices or platform or carrier but by us, application developers? Whoever controls apps controls the market. What about the fact that Steve Jobs attempted to kill Flash not because it is outdated but because it is too good and a threat to Apple's "divide and rule" strategy and a direct threat to iTunes and AppStore? What about the fact that the European Competition Commissioner gave Steve Jobs a reality check by constraining Apple to reverse its change of TOS aimed at blocking the port of Flash application to iOS? What about the fact that FTC constrained Apple to approve Google Voice? What about the fact that Steve Jobs was recently ordered to testify in an ongoing antitrust lawsuit over iTunes which might very soon blow up to his face? What about the fact that yet another investigation is around the corner over the Apple Tax and the in-app / subscription scam? What about the fact that Apple broke its teeth trying to twist our arms (developers) to build for Apple first and Apple only? Even pushing as far as requiring us to develop on a Mac until the EU got involved? What about the fact that the ban of Flash in the browser is now back firing and making Apple's devices ridiculously "has been" and isolated Apple in its corner? What about the fact that the entire industry rallied behind Adobe? That is what you get when you f*%ck with everyone and think you are so big that you can get away with it... Apple is big but not as big as the rest of the business and development world determined to bring it down as much for its arrogance and big mouth CEO than for its market advance or temporary dominance? What about the fact that Apple's PR department is so desperate to keep the face that they try to reverse the situation and make everyone believe (something they are champion at) that they won the war? What about the fact that Flash's mobile adoption is 2011 is going over the roof? What about the fact that no Flash in the browser is the #1 customer complain from iPad owners? Apple as we know it today is dying, long live the open web and multi screen apps. This is a blog post I wrote on Apple's war on Flash last year: applesucks.squarespace.com/.../...lash-enable.html

However, I work with pretty intelligent people that specialize in various areas of development and wouldn't know how to rip DRM protected content. As I asserted, DRM protects from a great majority of "hobby" or "casual" hacking. 3) I think you missed the point there. CSS styling with the HTML5 video tag is currently not consistent across browsers. I do mention that this will probably be fixed and the workaround for a CONSISTENT look across browsers is to roll your own custom HTML5 video player 4) I am willing to bet you money that Google's Youtube premium new content (ala Hulu) will not be HTML5 videos since they need to use DRM All that video codec stuff is a mess and my point there was that 2,3,4 years ago everyone was clamoring how HTML5 spec would prescribe a default codec and be done with it...sounded it would be H.264, but not anymore. It's something the plug-ins handle for you and CURRENTLY for HTML5 you have to write fall back code for browsers. I rather have users download Silverlight (much easier to understand) than a user to download a video codec (laman users might be scared off because of that). 5) For example, cross site scripting is pretty bad and inherent to JavaScript. I have 25 different Silverlight demos for my book..let me know which one crashes your browser: http://silverlightbusinessintelligence.com/Demos I agree with your Javascript points, but if I write a loop on the main thread that is broken it will make my browser unusuable...pretty much a crash from a user perspective. Or when that JavaScript is down from the server (use a CDN I know).

"VideoFullScreen.js provided by Opera" Actually it's made by me. The article you prbablyfound clearly states that. Original: my.opera.com/.../you-want-fullscreen-with-html5-opera-you-get-it 2. Video DRM Actually it doesn't need any big horsepower to rip a 1080p video stream that was DRMed. When a DRM scheme is broken (what it always is after some time) you only have to DECRYPT the stream. You don't have reENCODE it. You're right about the CEOs of course. But as it's easy as cake to use those ripping tools you are wrong about the 12 year olds. 3. Standards look and feel Actually I don't know a single large site that uses the default Silverlight or the default Flash media player. They ALL create their own. So that doesn't change with html5... 4. Common video codec Yes, this is still a problem, but: a) Google did commit itself to release WebM in a form for Mac that would allow Safari to play WebM just like IE9 b) Actually the probability of the HTML5 spec isn't that low. It was no actual "decision" to not force a default codec. They just couldn't agree on one. But know things have changed. My guess is that they might include it in an update after the lawsuits are over... 5. Your response to Mike Mai: Yes, JS is problematic, too. But only from a resource perspective. NOT from a crashing perspective. If said model jQuery box doesn't work, that means you wrote wrong code. If you write wrong Flash/SL code, it won't work either. And NO it is NOT POSSIBLE to crash any browser with JavaScript. Of course it's possible that some bug might be triggered in some corner case, but that's not the point. The thing is that JS is interpreted, and a well written and updated browser won't crash. But even if you write your Flash or SL code well and your browser is up-to-date, there is still the plugin itself that can crash. And as (until OOP plugins were invented) plugins run just like a dll in the browser they can cause vary big harm, and they do so all the time. Just think about the last 0-day Flash exploit... When was the last time you heard about a 0-day jQuery exploit?

The difference is that when a modal box fails in jQuery UI it doesn't stop you from working on the site (sometimes) or crashes the browser. Well written plug-in code should not crash your browser.
